is made by your choices

 

Scripture: Y’hoshua (Josh) 24:15-16 Choose Whom You Will Serve.

 

SYNOPSIS: What group do you belong to? The one that is going to heaven or the one that is going to she’ol? The way you can tell is by the choices you make every day. Do you make the hard choices that need to be made? Do you understand that the choice you make will affect your great grandchildren? Did Adam and Havah understand their choice would affect people 6000 years later? Did Havah understand that each month she would have terrible pain and cramps because of her choice? What does this really mean “as for me and my house” mean?

Y’hoshua (Josh) 24:15-16 Choose Whom You Will Serve.

Jos 24:15  If it seems bad to you to serve YEHOVAH, then choose today whom you are going to serve! Will it be the gods your ancestors served beyond the River? or the gods of the Emori, in whose land you are living? As for me and my household, we will serve YEHOVAH!" 

 

CHOOSE: H977 בּחר bâchar BDB Definition: to choose, elect, decide for

 

Sh’mot (Ex) 20:3-6 this choice will help or cause problems for this person.

Exo 20:5  You are not to bow down to them or serve them; for I, YEHOVAH your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 

Exo 20:6  but displaying grace to the thousandth generation of those who love me and obey my mitzvot. 

 

B’resheet (Gen) 3:1-6 do you choose to keep kosher.

Gen 3:1  Now the serpent was more crafty than any wild animal which YEHOVAH, God, had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You are not to eat from any tree in the garden'?" 

Gen 3:2  The woman answered the serpent, "We may eat from the fruit of the trees of the garden, 

Gen 3:3  but about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden God said, 'You are neither to eat from it nor touch it, or you will die.' " 

Gen 3:4  The serpent said to the woman, "It is not true that you will surely die; 

Gen 3:5  because God knows that on the day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." 

Gen 3:6  When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it had a pleasing appearance and that the tree was desirable for making one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her; and he ate.

Ref Gen 2:16 YEHOVAH, God, gave the person this order: "You may freely eat from every tree in the garden Gen 2:17 except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. You are not to eat from it, because on the day that you eat from it, it will become certain that you will die."

1 Kings 3:16-28 Solomon’s Wise Judgment.

1Ki 3:16  After this, there came to the king two women who were prostitutes. After presenting themselves to him, 

1Ki 3:17  one of the women said, "My lord, I and this woman live in the same house; and when she was in the house, I gave birth to a baby. 

1Ki 3:18  Three days after I gave birth, this woman also gave birth. We were there together; there was no one else with us in the house except the two of us. 

1Ki 3:19  During the night this woman's child died, because she rolled over on top of it. 

1Ki 3:20  So she got up in the middle of the night and took my son from next to me, while your servant was sleeping, and put it in her arms; and she laid her dead child in my arms. 

1Ki 3:21  When I awoke in the morning to feed my child from my breast, there it was, dead. But when I took a closer look later in the morning, why, it wasn't my son at all—not the one I gave birth to!" 

1Ki 3:22  The other woman broke in, "No! The living one is my son, and the dead one is your son!" The first one said, "No! The dead one is your son and the living one is my son!" This is how they spoke in the presence of the king. 

1Ki 3:23  Then the king said, "This woman says, 'The living one is my son; your son is the dead one'; while the other says, 'No, the dead one is your son, and the living one is my son.' 

1Ki 3:24  Bring me a sword," said the king. They brought a sword to the king. 

1Ki 3:25  The king said, "Cut the living child in two; give half to the one and half to the other." 

1Ki 3:26  At this, the woman to whom the living child belonged addressed the king, because she felt so strongly toward her son: "Oh, my lord, give her the living child; you mustn't kill it!" But the other one said, "It will be neither yours nor mine. Divide it up!" 

1Ki 3:27  Then the king answered, "Give the living child to the first woman, don't kill it, because she is its mother." 

1Ki 3:28  All Isra'el heard of the decision the king had made and held the king in awe, for they saw that God's wisdom was in him, enabling him to render justice properly.

Luke 22:39-42 YESHUAS’ Decision in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Luk 22:39  On leaving, Yeshua went as usual to the Mount of Olives; and the talmidim followed him. 

Luk 22:40  When he arrived, he said to them, "Pray that you won't be put to the test." 

Luk 22:41  He went about a stone's throw away from them, kneeled down and prayed, 

Luk 22:42  "Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me; still, let not my will but yours be done."
