Scripture: Sh’mot (Ex) 20:3-6

 

SYNOPSIS: At a Christian gathering this week of 100,000 people in Southern California. It was said that 10% or 10,000 people surrendered their lives to God. Is this real? Is it the real revival all the Christian prophets and Sunday Pastors have been speaking was coming? In this HaShabbat lesson we are going to explore, Surrender, what does that really mean? We will explore Yehovah’s jealousy. War of the flesh vs the spirit. Terms for real peace. And…the four seeds of real surrender.

LESSON 1: YEHOVAH IS JEALOUS.

 

Sh’mot (Ex) 20:3-6 I, Yehovah your God, am a jealous God

Exo 20:5  You are not to bow down to them or serve them; for I, Yehovah your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

D’varim (Deut) 4:23-24 God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

Deu 4:23  Watch out for yourselves, so that you won't forget the covenant of Yehovah your God, which he made with you, and make yourself a carved image, a representation of anything forbidden to you by Yehovah your God. Deu 4:24  For Yehovah your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

B’resheet (Gen) 37:10-12 Human jealousy leads to hatred and thoughts of murder…sin is crouching at your door

B’midbar (Num) 25:10-13 total surrender means zealous, jealous love for the word

Philippians 2:12-13 keep working out your deliverance

Php 2:12  So, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed when I was with you, it is even more important that you obey now when I am away from you: keep working out your deliverance with fear and trembling, Php 2:13  for God is the one working among you both the willing and the working for what pleases him.
