Synopsis: This is the only holy day found in scripture that has with it this phrase “Remember”. What are we to remember about this particular Holy Day? Why would the King say this about Yom Teruah? What is so important about the 4 chapter quatrain pertaining to Yom Teruah that we are to remember? What is also so important about the 14,700 people who were mislead? What was their fate? Is your destiny the same as theirs? Are you celebrating Yom Teruah or Rosh Hashanah?

Rosh Chedesh
From Chabad
WHAT IS ROSH HASHANAH
The anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve, a day of judgment and coronation, the sounding of the shofar . . .
"Jewish tradition believes that Adam was created on this day (Mishnah, San Hedrin 38b).
How did they decide that this was the day of the year the world was created? Because the first words of the Book of Genesis (Bereishit), "in the beginning," when changed around, read, Aleph b'Tishrei, or "on the first of Tishrei."
Therefore, Yom Teruah is known as the birthday of Adam," source unknown.
Yom Teruah occurs on Aleph b' tishrei - on the first of Tishrei - Hebrew name for this month.
Additional Rosh Hashanah observances include:
a) Eating a piece of apple dipped in honey, to symbolize our desire for a sweet year, and other special foods symbolic of the new year’s blessings.
b) Blessing one another with the words “Leshanah tovah tikateiv veteichateim,” “May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year.”
c) Tashlich, a special prayer said near a body of water (an ocean, river, pond, etc.), in evocation of the verse, “And You shall cast their sins into the depths of the sea.” And as with every major Jewish holiday, after candle lighting and prayers we recite kiddush and make a blessing on the challah.

This is a commanded festival during which we are to remember Yehovah and be called out of our spiritual sleep and slumber.
The word CRY is appropriate for this festival day.
The Hebrew phrase YOM TERUAH literally means the "day of shouting cries." Yom is Hebrew for "day" and
"teruah" is Hebrew for a "loud shrill, shout, cry, and alarm." As we celebrate this day we have been called to CRY aloud.
B’midbar 10:1-10
Num 10:2 "Make two trumpets; make them of hammered silver. Use them for summoning the community and for sounding the call to break camp and move on.
Num 10:3 When they are sounded, the entire community is to assemble before you at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
How am I to know the difference between breaking camp and assembling
There are four different sounds associated with the blowing of the shofar during the Yom Teruah service. These sounds are interpreted as follows:
1. TEKIAH - A pure unbroken sound that calls man to search his heart, forsake his wrong ways, and seek forgiveness through repentance.
2. SHEBARIM - A broken, staccato, trembling sound. It typifies the sorrow that comes to man when he realizes his misconduct and desires to change his ways.
3. TERUAH - A wave-like sound of alarm calling upon man to stand by the banner of HaShem.
4. TEKIAH GEDOLAH - The prolonged, unbroken sound typifying a final appeal to sincere repentance and atonement.
Num 10:4 If only one is sounded, then just the leaders, the heads of the clans of Isra'el, are to assemble before you.

2. SHEBARIM - A broken, staccato, trembling sound. It typifies the sorrow that comes to man when he realizes his misconduct and desires to change his ways.
Num 10:7 However, when the community is to be assembled, you are to sound; but don't sound an alarm.
